8 March 2017: On hearing the news that the Trust has been recommended by the bid assessment team to become the preferred bidder, Anthony said “I am in touch with other St. John relatives both in the UK and also more distant parts like California, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Those I have spoken to recently have expressed a mixture of relief that Lydiard is recommended to be saved from possible decline and excitement at the prospect of future enhancements to the collection and facilities at Lydiard Park.”
